Town of Bay Bulls buys civic address locators for all homes

The Town of Bay Bulls is taking steps to ensure that all residents can receive quick and efficient emergency response services.
“We have decided to go out and acquire some civic address numbers that we can provide to our residents to help in that process,” Mayor Harold Mullowney told council during the June 10 meeting.
The topic came up last month during the May 13 council meeting as well, when members discussed if there was a way to make it mandatory for residents to have their numbers visibly displayed on their properties, and it was decided that there wasn’t.
Recently, the Witless Bay Regional Volunteer Fire Committee took to social media to remind residents of the importance of having their civic addresses on their homes to assist emergency responders in emergency situations.
The Town purchased the hi-vis, reflective, laminated numbers for $478.86 plus HST, or $0.69 per number.
The numbers can be picked up, free of charge, at the town office.
