Tammy Jones, left, and Francisco Bellens were the champs at the Eugene Ward Memorial Cornhole Throwing Tournament held in Portugal Cove South earlier this month as part of the town’s annual Cape Race Days summer festival. The first-place prize was presented by Ward’s daughter Dawn Ward, centre. Ward, a much-loved fisherman of Portugal Cove South who was noted for his dry sense of humour, passed away several years ago due to brain cancer.
